Course description and content
This course is designed to teach participants the technical aspects of a variety of soft tissue surgery procedures. Some ‘theory’ will be included in the lectures but emphasis will be placed on the technical aspects used to perform each procedure thus maximizing time in the lab. Topics have been chosen that represent surgical conditions commonly seen in veterinary practice and include salivary gland resection, laryngeal tie-back, anal sacculectomy, urethrostomy, 10-minute gastropexy, 4-ligature splenectomy, and chest drain placement. Video of clinical case material will be used extensively throughout the laboratory to help illustrate each technique.

Who should attend
This course is designed for veterinarians interested in providing a higher level of surgical treatment for a variety of practical soft tissue surgery techniques in their practice. Techniques have been chosen that treat common disorders seen in practice every day. If you have been thinking of incorporating more surgery into your practice then this course is a must.

This course will help attendees...
Update their knowledge on practical surgical techniques and procedures
Increase confidence levels when performing various soft tissue and orthopedic surgery procedures
Gain a better knowledge of the regional anatomy related to each surgical procedure
Better understand how to perform each surgical technique through extensive use of video case examples coupled with hands-on laboratory practice
Realize that many soft tissue surgery procedures are possible to perform in practice
