Bachir Tazkarji

Dr. Bachir Tazkarji graduated from Aleppo University- Syria in 1997. He completed residency and geriatric medicine training in the US at East Carolina University where he completed his family medicine training followed by a year of a fellowship in geriatrics medicine.

Since graduating, Dr. Tazkarji continued to pursue an interest in geriatrics, he has been the attending physician for a geriatric psychiatry unit a unit that focuses on patients with advanced dementia. He is also working at Summerville Family Health Team since 2007 and has been running a family medicine clinic with focus on elderly care. He is also part of the Summerville Family Health Team Memory Clinic.

Dr. Tazkarji is an assistant professor with the UoT/ Department of Family and Community Medicine.

He has been involved with the national Geriatric Society and has been the chair for the CPD committee since 2016.

Dr. Tazkarji has a continued interest in medical writing, elder abuse, preventative care and dementia research.

In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, spending time with family and table tennis.
