Osteoarthritis versus Rheumatoid Arthritis: An Approach

Friday, November 24
1:15 PM - 2:15 PM

Inflammatory arthritis is a "don't miss" diagnosis, that can sometimes be challenging to make in the primary care setting. This session will provide the attendee with an approach to identifying rheumatoid arthritis vs osteoarthritis at early presentation, along with the best use of laboratory testing (such as RF and anti-CCP) and imaging to support the diagnostic process. Evidence-based management of osteoarthritis will be reviewed. An approach to initial management of RA, along with tips for expediting rheumatology consultation will also be discussed.
