Dr. Reyst received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kalamazoo College in 1991, and her PhD in Applied Social Psychology from The George Washington University in 2001. Dr. Reyst’s career in brain injury spans more than 25 years. Her primary experience is in post-acute, transitional and long term residential treatment, as well as outpatient and day treatment programming. Her specialties are clinical systems development, clinical operations, quality assurance & outcomes management, risk management and education & training. Dr. Reyst sits on the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Michigan and the Brain Injury Association of America, as well as the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS) in the capacity of Chair of the Board of Governors.
Dr. Reyst is an accomplished speaker and educator in the field of brain injury rehabilitation, having trained over 500 professionals with the CBIS curriculum. She has a special affinity for ACBIS, having volunteered for the organization for more than a decade. She is co-editor of the Essential Brain Injury Guide (Edition 5.0). In 2008, Dr. Reyst was the recipient of the Brain Injury Association of Michigan’s 2008 Legacy Society Professional Service Award.
