Postbaccalaureate master's degree programs geared toward individuals from underrepresented and socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds have been successful in preparing a diverse population of qualified applicants for dental school admission. Session participants will hear how students in two such programs, Texas A&M University and Boston University, enhance not only their academic credentials by taking additional science coursework and improving study and time management skills, but also their professional skills and confidence through mentoring, networking and enrichment programs. Lastly, you will learn dental school graduation rates of students from seven postbaccalaureate programs, confirming that such programs prepare students for the rigor of dental school.
