Learning Focus: Assessment

Dental student cheating stresses faculty and wastes their time. The presenters surveyed dental school academic officers, compiling measures that schools use to discourage cheating. In other research conducted on graduate students, Ariely documented behavioral and environmental factors that increase and decrease cheating. This seminar will utilize the outcomes of these research studies to help faculty members to prevent cheating.

Learning Objectives:

Avoid student assessment conditions that contribute to cheating.
Implement measures that have been proven to lessen/prevent cheating.
Use an instructional module to help students avoid inadvertent plagiarism.
