ADEA Competencies for the New General Dentist state that, "Graduates must be competent to evaluate and integrate emerging trends in health care." As institutions move toward introducing the emerging discipline of personalized dentistry into the curricula, initiatives to integrate this knowledge with classroom learning and clinical training become increasingly important. Consistent with our editorial in the April issue of the Journal of Dental Education, the goal of this seminar is to have participants learn different approaches that can be used to translate salivary diagnostics into classroom learning.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify what approaches can be taken in order to initiate a course in personalized dentistry in his/her institution.
- Pinpoint principles of personalized dentistry that can be integrated into a course in personalized dentistry.
- Identify teaching activities that can used in teaching personalized dentistry in the classroom.
