In keeping with its strategic plan for the future, the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) is developing the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) to assist state boards of dentistry in evaluating candidates for dental licensure. The INBDE will replace the NDBE Parts I and II and integrate the biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences to determine whether candidates possess the cognitive skills necessary to safely practice dentistry. With the 2020 launch of this new examination looming, this session will "pull back the curtain" on the development process to better prepare candidates for the arrival of this new examination.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the latest developments concerning the INBDE and its implementation.
- Compare and contrast the NBDE Part I, the NBDE Part II and the INBDE.
- Help programs develop a game plan for identifying when students should take the exam.
