Dental faculty face the challenge of promoting active learning, especially in large classroom settings. In this workshop, we will showcase use of an iPad and the SplashTop app in the classroom to promote active learning and student engagement. Using this tool can free faculty from the podium to better engage students. With the SplashTop app, faculty can annotate slides "on the go" to emphasize key points and turn the iPad into a virtual whiteboard to illustrate complex ideas. Participants will be engaged in hands-on activities, including playing with the tools and brainstorming ideas for implementation at their institutions.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the SplashTop app and its applications in dental education.
- Discuss utilization of the SplashTop app in novel ways to support student learning and engagement.
- Develop at least one application of the SplashTop app at the attendee's home institution.
