With dynamically changing healthcare reform, increases in access to care gaps, and the creation of new jobs in the public health sector, dental providers of the future need an in-depth understanding of foundational public health concepts to succeed in an evolving field. Students who learn about dental concepts through the lens of public health will be better equipped to treat diverse populations with high quality care while maintaining humanism, cultural humility and a commitment to disease prevention. Participants in this seminar will explore how to incorporate and integrate public health concepts into their existing dental curricula.

- Identify foundational public health concepts relevant and applicable to mainstream dental education.
- Analyze current academic courses and identify opportunities for public health integration within them.
- Explain how integration of public health concepts will benefit the dental students education .
