This session explores the world of 2030 for dental education: Emerging changes in health care, health science education, society and economics that will influence dental education and practice in 2030. Trends that will be discussed include interprofessional education and collaborative practice models; workforce models, including dental therapy; integrating oral health systems into health systems; medically necessary dental care; and value-based approaches to dental care, including value-based payment, education, incentives and public expectation.

Learning Objectives:

Evaluate the evolving environment for dental education in 2030.
Identify and assess the factors that influence sustainability of dental education in 2030.
Describe the emerging professional identity of the oral health team of 2030.
