With a new justice on the U.S. Supreme Court and the potential for changes on the bench as justices retire in the next few years, this session is timely. A U.S. Supreme Court expert will discuss how litigation related to the travel ban, free speech on campus, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and state action immunity will impact academic dentistry.

Learning Objectives:

Explain the role of the U.S. Supreme Court in interpreting legislation and policy that could affect dental education, and summarize the process of judicial review.
Discuss current and future U.S. Supreme Court cases that could have potential impact on dental education.
Analyze the potential for President Trump to alter the makeup of the U.S. Supreme Court as justices retire in the next several years.
