Continuing dental education is important to practitioner and patient safety. But how do you validate quality infection control education in a crowded information landscape? What is available to assess comprehension of and knowledge-based competency in dental infection control? In this session, participants will discuss key concepts using a new perspective; assessment-based certificate programs, licensure and certification programs; and testing for comprehension and competency. Participants will learn about new infection control education and competency assessment programs from the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and the DALE Foundation’s collaborative initiative to advance dental safety.
