The next generation of libraries takes risks and fosters leaders of change at all levels. Building a culture of learning is the critical link that drives innovation and engagement. The CEO and Deputy CEO of Pickering Public Library shares their success story of leading a learning organization. In this session, participants will obtain practical tools and collaboratively discuss top strategies to assist library leaders in transforming their libraries into learning organizations. It is no coincidence that the City of Pickering was designated as a worldwide Smart21 Community and Pickering Public Library was awarded the #1 Summer Reading Club in Canada. This session is based on Tanya Sinclair's 2017 case study research article "Building a Learning Organization in a Public Library" published in the Journal of Library Administration http://www.tandfonline.com/eprint/GFJjWb8FUETRkViB9ZAp/full.
