A dynamic panel of community college librarians will share their practical methods for creating effective, student-focused instructional strategies based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education. This panel will address some of the unique challenges community college librarians face when adapting the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy to meet the needs of their students. Panel participants will discuss their original, field-tested ideas that have not been widely published. Attendees will be offered hands-on, practical solutions to the application of the Framework in community college library instruction, especially one-shots. Key takeaways will include examples of the successful utilization of the Framework’s frames and threshold concepts in active learning scenarios, which attendees can adopt and modify as needed to fit the learning objectives in their own instruction.
