On August 3, 2012 a sinkhole swallowed a swath of swamps in Bayou Corne, Louisiana and after a mandatory evacuation ordered, residents were left with an impossible choice: start their lives over elsewhere, or stay and face the risks. The result of irresponsible mining and oil drilling in and around an underground salt dome propels this small bayou community into chaos as its residents struggle in the aftermath of this man-made environmental disaster. This film is being screened in conjunction with a panel discussion on Sunday, June 24 from 10:30am-11:30am, with representatives from the New Orleans Film Society and local filmmakers.
