Over the past 10 years, women writers have come to dominate crime fiction. With that dominance has come a more nuanced approach to the idea of the female victim or the male villain. In short, women writers have been discussing the topic of gender roles and power long before the #MeToo movement flooded our headlines.
How can women-driven mysteries continue to lead the discussion long after #MeToo fades from our timelines?
International bestselling author Nancy Boyarsky of the Nicole Graves Mysteries (Light Messages Publishing) and New York Times bestselling author Amy Stewart of the Kopp Sisters series (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt), engage in a conversation about women-driven mysteries, the #MeToo movement, and their latest novels.
Elizabeth Turnbull, senior editor of Light Messages Publishing, will moderate the discussion. Members of the audience will be encouraged to ask their own questions and engage in conversation with the authors.
