Erdinc Sogut completed his BS and MSc degrees from Middle East Technical University, Department of Civil Engineering, Ankara, Turkey. He worked as a professional coastal engineer for 5 years in various prestigious coastal projects such as big ports and nuclear power plants. Currently, he is working as a Research Assistant and he is a PhD student at Stony Brook University, Department of Civil Engineering, NY, USA. His main research topics are wave-structure interaction and beach morphodynamics.
His current research focuses on the physical and numerical modeling of wave-structure interaction mainly focusing on the hydrodynamics around structures, pressure and force distributions on the structures and their implications.
