Howdy. I am Cris Weber, a licensed professional engineer and the Coastal Engineering Manager with Freese and Nichols, Inc., based in Texas. I have over 22 years of experience as a project engineer and project manager. My BS is from Texas A&M in Ocean Engineering and my MS is from University of Florida in Coastal Engineering. I have been the project manager and technical lead on many interdisciplinary projects for clients such as, TPWD, LCRA, GBRA, TGLO, Audubon Texas, The Nature Conservancy, and the National Park Service, providing technical expertise and project management ranging from oyster reef restoration to bird island habitat protection to flood control structures to navigation dredging and dredge material placement operations.
I have been directly involved with comprehensive scope development, fee negotiations, project schedule and deliverable milestones development, technical and financial project management, client and stakeholder coordination, project design PS&E’s and project implementation, and subcontractor administration for complex design and construction projects. I have extensive knowledge working in the Gulf of Mexico from Texas to Florida providing comprehensive coastal engineering design solutions for shore protection projects, feasibility analysis, numerical and analytical modeling, project management, beneficial use of dredge material, and construction program management.
