Luis Zambrano-Cruzatty is a Ph.D. student in Geotechnical Engineering at Virginia Tech. His work is focused on numerical simulation with the Material Point Method (MPM) and in the study of soil erosion for coastal applications. Luis recently joined the Anura 3D research community, which is a group composed of several prestigious Universities including The University of Cambridge, TU Delft, UC Berkeley, among others. Luis is working on developing algorithms to simulate the use of dynamic penetrometers for shallow sediment characterization and the interaction between flow and erosion with MPM.
