Large scale tests were performed in the large scale facility GWK at Hannover, Germany, within the HYDRALAB+ project ICODEP: The test set-up consisted of a relatively steep 1:15 sandy beach profile in front of a battered seawall with 10:1 slope (almost vertical). Various storms and storm clusters were generated. The varying foreshore profile was measured as well as wave. Overtopping was compared with the EurOtop manual with good results and the varying foreshore was modelled by XBeach, with partly good results. Scour was predicted well, breaker bar formation was not.
