Low-crested rubble mound breakwaters are used for coastal protection. In the present study, the 2D-vertical flow over three layouts of zero-free-board porous breakwaters, with their crest level at the SWL, was simulated by means of a Navier-Stokes solver. The Immersed Boundary method is implemented for the enforcement of the boundary conditions, while the Level-Set method is used for the evolution of the free surface. From the numerical results, which include free-surface elevations, reflection and transmission coefficients, velocity and vorticity fields and undertow current distributions is demonstrated the effect of the structure crest geometry on the flow and wave pattern.
