Predictive modelling of salt marshes is required to apply them in coastal defense schemes. Yet, it remains a challenge how the dynamics of such variable habitat can be included in numerical models. This presentation addresses modelling of small-scale interactions between vegetation, flow and sediment and how this contributed to an improved predictive model of the Taf estuary in West Wales, UK.
