The U-OWC is a breakwater embodying an OWC (Oscillating Water Column) with a small opening. The external opening is at the upper end of a vertical duct which extends along the whole wave-beaten-wall. The interaction between incoming waves and the water discharge through the plant alters the wave pressure distribution on the wave beaten wall of the breakwater in respect to the well-known pressure distribution in front of a vertical pure reflective wall. An experiment on a small scale model showed us the characteristic forms of these distributions. A numerical experiment revealed why they deviate from linearity.
