Wave Overtopping Flow Analysis

This contributions presents a new fully-automatic procedure for identifying and coupling the overtopping events. The accuracy of this new procedure is the same achieved by visual examination of the wave signals. The procedure can be applied to any kind of oscillatory signal in the time domain and to any structure type and crest freeboard. It allows applications of practical revelance, such as the evaluation of the wave celerity, the reconstruction of the overtopping characteristics and their evolution over the structure crest or the possibility of monitoring the wave overtopping at prototype requiring only two pressure transducers over the structure crest.
