A wave model is needed for multiple porous layers such as submerged breakwaters and sandy beaches. Until now, the Boussinesq equations have been developed for water with upper nonporous and lower porous layer. These models cannot be applied for rubble mound breakwaters or sand beaches. In this study, we develop a Boussinesq model for waves in two porous layers which can solve the aforementioned problems. The developed model considers drag and inertial resistances. The validity of the developed model is examined by comparing numerical results with analytical solutions and hydraulic experimental data.
