A placed block revetment is a slope protection consisting of a regular pattern of concrete blocks, forming a relatively smooth surface. Large-scale tests in the Delta Flume of Deltares on scale 1:2 have been carried out to compare the stability of nine modern placed block revetments on a slope of 1:3. The significant wave height ranged from 1 to 2 m (on model scale). Each revetment was tested up to damage with a step by step increasing wave height (two different wave steepnesses). The third test series was a long duration test, lasting up to 25 hours.
