Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas on August 26, 2017, causing severe wind, wave, and surge damage to homes and businesses. Several weeks after landfall, National Science Foundation-funded teams of researchers performed reconnaissance related to winds and water levels, erosion, and damage caused by the storm. This paper will describe these efforts, the effects of Harvey’s winds, waves, and surge, and will present preliminary conclusions.
