Sea Level Rise and Vegetation
The Gulf Coast Pilot Study is an initiative from the U.S. Department of Transportation to study the projected impacts of climate change on transportation infrastructure. The Phase 2 portion of the Gulf Coast Pilot Study was focused on the greater Mobile, Alabama, area to provide an assessment of critical infrastructure from specific climate change threats. The Adaptation Decision-making Assessment Process (ADAP) was developed as part of the Phase 2 study and is used on 10 case studies. Two of the case studies are presented, including hydraulic loading on a ramp bridge for Interstate10 and overtopping of I-10 south of Mobile.
