Wave Transformation and Swash
In this study, two numerical models are compared to a physical model results. The numerical models are standard two dimensional (2D) nonlinear shallow water model and quasi-three dimensional (Q3D) Euler model. Both models are hydrostatic but the Q3D model include vertical turbulence mixing. The buildings are included as topography in the simulations unlike the conventional way of roughness model. The simulations showed that both 2D and Q3D models are available to estimate the damage of the tsunami in city scale but the accuracy depends on the local reflection and diffraction.
