A sand wave evolution model has been applied to predict depth change at the crest of sand waves in Kanmon route, Japan. In Kanmon Route, several locations of sand wave formation exist and channel deepening project up to -14 m is underway. Therefore reliable prediction model of sand wave evolution is needed for channel depth management in the future. The prediction results show that channel deepening can reduce growth rate of the existing sand wave. It is also confirmed that the model is applicable for estimation to minimize dredging volume or for setting dredging frequency appropriately.
