Regular waves propagating over a patch of periodic bottom corrugations on an otherwise flat bottom can undergo under certain conditions large reflection due to the Bragg resonance mechanism (Mei, 1985). When two patches of ripples are considered, separated by a flat bottom section, the Fabry-Perot (F-P) resonance may develop, giving then rise to large amplification of the waves between the two patches. Here an accurate numerical model is used to study F-P resonance and to examine the influence of the assumptions made while deriving the linear asympotic wave theory recently proposed by Couston et al. (2015) to model this mechanism.
