The knowledge on nearshore morphological processes such as prediction of sediment transport rates and beach profile evolution is still limited. In the present study, a two-dimensional cross-shore beach profile evolution model consisting of three sub-models(Wave and current model, Sediment transport model and Bed level changes)is applied to validate the model using collected field data at Nowshahr and Zarabad beaches in Iran. A computer program was written and performed in MATLAB. The proposed model is sensitive to calibration parameters and proved to be a useful tool to predict beach profiles on the time scales from a week to months.
