MON-C09 - Drones 2.0: Exploring Nascent Design Applications for Unmanned Aerial Systems

Monday, October 22
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: 108

1.5 PDH, LA CES/non-HSW, AICP, FL, NY/non-HSW

This session will examine how landscape architects, professors, and planners are using nascent unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) techniques to map, study, and forecast complex ecologies, vegetational systems, and landscape surface strata to constructively alter the methodologies the profession can utilize with the use of emergent mapping technologies present in the UAV.

Learning Objectives:

Christopher S. Sherwin, ASLA

Associate
Surface Design Inc.

Chris S. Sherwin, RLA is a Senior Landscape Architect residing in San Francisco with over 19 years of professional experience within a wide range of project types that combine strategic planning and urban design with the detailed focused on construction documentation and management. As a senior technical leader in the field, he combines his expertise and research in BIM project documentation, life-cycle management, and the utilization of nascent UAV Applications with the standard projects in the office. He holds a MLA II from the Graduate School of Design and a BSLA from the University of Oregon.
