WS-001 - Workshop: The LARE Experience: What to Expect and How to Prepare

Looking to start taking the LARE? This workshop provides information on the LARE content and format for Sections 1, 2, and 3 and explores study strategies. It features a panel discussion with practitioners who have recently passed the exam and will share the secrets to their success.

$50 per person by 6/29; $75 by 9/14; $100 after 9/14

Gail Ferry, AICP, PLA, ASLA, CLARB is a landscape architect and planner at Lionheart Places LLC. She is an AICP certified planner and a licensed landscape architect in the state of Texas with over eight years of experience on municipal, commercial, institutional, and residential projects. Gail has served on the ASLA LARE Prep Committee since 2011 and is currently the chair. She successfully completed the LARE in Pennsylvania in 2013. She has previously conducted ASLA LARE Prep webinars, review sessions at the ASLA Annual Meetings, and provided preparation assistance to numerous candidates since obtaining her licensure.

Steve is a licensed landscape architect in West Palm Beach, Florida working with Kimley-Horn and Associates, a consulting firm specializing in land development and design. He has experience in both the public and private sector markets, specializing in site planning, streetscapes, parks, planting, and irrigation design. He is a recent recipient of his Florida license, passing sections 1-4 of the LARE and the Florida Section on the first time. Steve is currently serving on the ASLA LARE prep committee.

Madeline Steigerwald, PLA ASLA is a landscape architect at Dix.Hite + Partners in Birmingham, Alabama. She has over five years of experience with campus, roadway and streetscape design, multi-family developments, residential design, community hardscape and landscape renovations, and exterior building color studies. She successfully completed the LARE in Alabama in 2017. Madeline serves on the ASLA LARE Prep Committee, as Alabama ASLA Advocacy Chair, and is a member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham.

Tony Kostreski, ASLA

Product Marketing Specialist-Landscape
Vectorworks, Inc.

Tony Kostreski, ASLA brings institutional, mixed-use, and residential site design proficiency in his role as Product Marketing Specialist for the landscape industries to Vectorworks, Inc. His experience includes high-end residential landscapes, various waterfront sites, as well as GAR (Green Area Ratio) projects throughout the District of Columbia. Tony holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Maryland, College Park and serves on the ASLA Maryland Chapter, most recently as its executive committee secretary and programs committee chair and has helped in coordinating local LARE prep sessions, as he has been pursuing exam passage himself.
