Biography:
R. Jeffrey Karnes, MD, FACS
Dr. Karnes is currently a Professor of Urology. He received his BA at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island and his MD at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He served an internship in general surgery and post-graduate training in urology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Karnes’ interests include: recurrent and advanced urologic cancers and has research in prostate and bladder biomarkers. He is currently co-director for Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine – Biomarker Discovery/GU Cancer Program, Regional Chair of Urology in the Mayo Health Care System, and director of Department of Urology Radical Prostatectomy Database.
