Biography:
Dr. Simon S. Lo, MB, ChB, FACR, FASTRO is a Professor of Radiation Oncology and Neurological Surgery, Vice Chair for Strategic Planning for Radiation Oncology and Director of Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy at University of Washington School of Medicine. He was previously the Director of SBRT at Arthur G. James Cancer Hosptial and University Hosptials Seidman Cancer Center. Dr. Lo specializes in CNS and spine tumors, oligometastasis, SRS and SBRT, which are also his research expertise. He has published 191 peer reviewed papers and over 60 book chapters in these areas and has edited 4 textbooks on SRS/ SBRT, as a lead editor in 3 of them. He is one of the coeditors of an upcoming comprehensive CNS Radiation Oncology textbook.

Dr. Lo is a member of the Cancer Prevention and Control Committee and a liaison to the Lung Cancer Committee and Functional Imaging work group with NRG Oncology. He is also the Radiation Oncology Track Co-Chair for the refresher courses for Radiological Society of North America and a member of the ASCO Annual Meeting Education Committee (CNS track). He has been inducted as a Fellow of American College of Radiology (FACR) and a Fellow of American Society for Radiation Oncology (FASTRO) and is currently the President-elect for the Council of Affiliated Regional Radiation Oncology Societies, the radiation oncology chapter of the American College of Radiology (ACR). He has participated in or led international/ national practice guidelines in brain, bone and spinal metastases and SBRT. He has been invited as a panel member to serve on the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (AANS)/ Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) Taskforce in Brain Metastases to help develop evidence cased practice guidelines for brain metastases. He is one of the co-founders of the International Radiosurgery Oncology Consortium for Kidney (IROCK).
