Biography:
Dr. Scott Bratman is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology and Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto and a Scientist at the Princess Margaret Cancer Research Institute. He also serves as Clinician-Scientist in the Radiation Medicine Program at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Dr. Bratman was trained at Princeton University, Columbia University Medical Center, and Stanford Cancer Institute. At Stanford he performed postdoctoral research studies with Drs. Max Diehn and Ash Alizadeh and published a landmark study on liquid biopsies for lung cancer patients. Since moving to Toronto in 2014, his research and clinical focus has been on head and neck cancer. The Bratman Lab is currently developing and validating new liquid biopsy tools for detecting the presence of cancer. The team is also interested in genomic tools and other biomarkers for personalized use of radiotherapy for head and neck cancer patients.
