Biography:
I, Andreas Rimner, MD, am an Attending Physician and leader of the thoracic group in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York. I am a graduate of the School of Medicine at the Eberhard-Karls-University in Tuebingen, Germany. After a postdoctoral fellowship I completed my transitional year and radiation oncology residency, all at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In 2010 I joined the faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology. I currently serve as the ASTRO Annual Meeting Vice-Chair for the Lung Track, a member of the ASTRO Lung Resource Panel, and have participated in multiple additional ASTRO guideline committees. I am an ABR board exam member for Thoracic Cancers and Sarcomas. I am a board member of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group and the Vice-President Elect of the International Thymic Malignancies Interest Group. I have a particular interest in clinical and translational research that explores drug-radiation combination therapies, novel approaches and improvements in RT imaging and delivery, and normal organ complications of RT.
