Most urologic surgery has abandoned the skin incision. Despite still requiring an incision, many new developments have occurred in surgical technique and management. Join three very experienced implanters as they discuss these new enhancements: different skin incision location for placement, much safer locations for reservoirs, new infection prevention and management ideas, new techniques for straightening Peyronie's with implant and tricks for lengthening the penis.

Steven K Wilson MD, FACS, FRCS is a former Professor of Urology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The Steven K Wilson Chair of Prosthetic Urology was endowed at this University in 2007. Having performed over 11,000 implants in 51 countries, he has been visiting professor at most of US training programs and numerous foreign centers. He is the author of 225 peer revuewed publications, videos and abstracts, 16 testbook chapters, many reference surgical videos and 5 prosthetic urology textbooks. He is the 2010 recipient of the St Paul's Medal of the British Association of Urologic Surgeons - given yearly to that single urologist outside of the UK that contributed significantly to world urology. He has received the 2013 F Brantley Scott Award of Excellence and the 2017 Living legend award of the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons. He is currently the Editor-In-Chief of the ISSM Video Journal of Prosthetic Urology. His notable literature contributions include strategies for infection and biofilm in penile prosthetics, the modeling procedure for Peyronie's Disease and the recently FDA approved etopic placement of implant reservoirs, and implantation of sphincters through a scrotal incision.
Wilson is most recognized for his inventions of new surgical techniques making the complex implantation of penile implants and urinary sphincters minimally invasive. Many of the modern enhancements to the penile implant and special implantation instruments/retractors are the result of Dr. Wilson's inventions and research. An editorial in the Journal of Sexual Medicine (2015;12:413) idicated Wilson "has performed and taught more penile implant surgeries than anyone in history. His current practice is limited to prosthetic urology and he continues to travel and teach others his technqiues.

Tobias S. Kohler

Dr. Tobias S. Köhler, MD, MPH, FACS is a Professor of Urology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN . He completed a fellowship in Andrology at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. His Residency, MPH and undergraduate degree were all completed at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Dr. Köhler’s chief interests include sexual dysfunction, BPH and resident education. Dr. Kohler is in active board member and web-site chair of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and is chair of the AUA public media committee. He was thrice the NCS nominee for the Golden Cystoscope Award, participated in the 2016 AUA leadership program, and received numerous awards for research and teaching excellence. He recently co-edited the textbook “Surgeons ad Educators” and has published more than 150 peer reviewed articles and scientific abstracts.

Nearly 19 years ago Dr. Perito developed a boutique practice in Coral Gables, Florida treating Men’s Health issues with Erectile Dysfunction being his primary focus. Dr. Perito’s techniques and surgical pearls are derived from these 19 years of IPP experience having now performed over 5,000 penile implant cases. During this time Dr. Perito’s practice has gained a global presence as a treatment center for men with erectile dysfunction and has also become the #1 training facility where over 500 doctors from around the world have come to learn his minimally invasive technique.
Dr. Perito attended Emory University for undergraduate training, University of Maryland Medical School, University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital for general surgery and his urology residency and a one-year fellowship at Flinder’s University, South Australia in prostate disease. He is a board certified member of the American Urological Association, Sexual Medicine Society, Society of Prosthetic Surgeons, and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Paul Perito is currently Chief of Surgery at Coral Gables Hospital in Coral Gables Florida.
