076IC - AUA Guidelines 2018: Erectile Dysfunction

This course will review the new AUA guidelines on erectile dysfunction. Faculty will explore the rigorous process used in the development of these evidence based guidelines, as well as discuss future research needs. The course will provide a clinical framework for the diagnosis, evaluation, treatment and follow-up of patients with erectile dysfunction based on the best available published literature. The course will showcase clinical scenarios in urological practice and the correct application of the new AUA guidelines in those instances. This course will be a benefit to practicing urologists, primary care providers, other non-physician providers, residents preparing for their re-certification exam and physicians preparing for their re-certification exam.

Arthur L. Burnett

Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions

Dr Arthur L. (Bud) Burnett is the Patrick C. Walsh Distinguished Professor of Urology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He received his AB degree in Biology from Princeton University and MD and MBA degrees from Johns Hopkins University. His post-graduate training in general surgery, urology and reconstructive urology and urodynamics was performed at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Burnett is Director of the Basic Science Laboratory in Neuro-urology of the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute and Director of the Male Consultation Clinic, and he is Director of the Sexual Medicine Fellowship and Reconstructive Urology Fellowship Training Program in the Department of Urology at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Dr. Burnett specializes in sexual medicine, major pelvic reconstruction, voiding dysfunciton, female urology and prostate cancer. He has written more than 300 orginal peer-reviewed articles and 50 book chapters relating to his biomedical research and clinical activities.

Ajay Nehra

Massachusetts General Hospital

Dr Nehra is a faculty at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital as Director of Men's Health and Male Reconstructive Surgery. He currently serves as a Co-Chair of the AUA Guidelines on Peyronies Disease and Erectile Dysfunction. He has been an Editor of of the Journal of Men's Health, and Past President of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America and the Society of Prosthetic Surgery.
He has contributed greater than 170 peer reviewed publications and Chapters and is has been on the Journal of Urology Editoral Board.

Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad

Rutgers New Jersey Medical School

Dr. Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he was the recipient of the Goodwin Commencement Prize. He received his medical doctorate from the McGill University School of Medicine in Montreal, Canada and served as an Intern and Resident in General Surgery at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad completed his urological residency and fellowship training in Male Reproductive Medicine and microsurgery at the Boston University Medical Center. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad is Professor of Surgery / Urology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, Chief of Urology at the VA NJ Health Care System, and the Director of the Center for Male Reproductive Medicine at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad has served on the global AUA task force on circumcision and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Urological Association (AUA), The Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), Society for Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR), and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Currently the President Elect of SMSNA, he is a founding member of the SMSNA Foundation. In 2015, he received one of SMSNA’s highest awards, the Distinguished Service Award. He is currently the co-chair of the Education Committee of the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM). A co-author of the 2014 US Surgeon General’s Report, Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad is a scientific reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed journals and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
From 2011 to 2015, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the NY Section of the AUA as the New Jersey representative. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad has served on the AUA Peyronie's Disease and Erectile Dysfunction Guidelines. He is currently a member of the Examination Committee of the American Board of Urology.
