Robert Uzzo

Dr. Uzzo graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian from Union College in upstate New York as part of their accelerated 6 year biomedical program. He attended Cornell University Medical College where he graduated in 1991 and was a New York State Finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship Competition. He completed general surgical training followed by urologic surgical training at New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He was an American Foundation for Urological Diseases Scholar in Urological Oncology and completed both Oncological and Renal Transplantation Fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Uzzo is currently the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center. He serves as the G. Willing “Wing” Pepper Professor of Urological Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center/Temple University. He is also the Chair of the Fox Chase/Einstein Urologic Institute.

Dr Uzzo has authored over 350 peer-reviewed articles in urologic oncology primarily focused on renal, prostate and bladder cancer. He is also the author of more than 30 chapters including the senior author of “Pathophysiology, Evaluation and Medical Management of Adrenal Disorders” In Campbell’s Urology. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Urology, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons. He is a member of numerous additional medical societies including the AUA, ASCO, SUO and ECOG. He is heavily involved in clinic trials in urologic oncology as a Principle Investigator, co-investigator and president of the Society of Urologic Oncology – Clinical Trials Consortium. He has presented over 350 times nationally and internationally on topics in urologic oncology and has been a visiting professor at over 25 universities and medical centers worldwide. He is on the editorial board and a peer reviewer for 15 medical journals.
