Dr. Rink,a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine completed his general surgical training at Emory University and his Urology Residency at Indiana University. He did his Pediatric Urology Fellowship at The Children’s Hospital, Boston, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Rink was Chief of the Pediatric Urology Department for 25 years (1989 to 2014) at Riley hosital for Children. He built an internationally recognized Pediatric Urology Department with one of the premier Pediatric Urology Fellowship Programs in the USA.

He is a member of nearly every prestigious national and international urologic society including AAGUS and SPUS, has held 3 national Presidencies: Chair of the Urology Section of the AAP, President of the American Association of Pediatric Urologists and President of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons. . He has been repeatedly named by his peers one of “The Best Doctors in America” and “America’s Top Rated Physicians”. ”.


He is an internationally renowned surgeon. He has pioneered several operative techniques for children with DSD. He is the Surgical Director of The CARES Foundation Comprehensive Care Center for Children with CAH. One of only 4 Centers in the USA. He has 59 invited lectureships internationally, 110 invited lectureships in the USA and has been a Visiting Professor at 51 universities in the United States. He has authored 258 journal publications, 51 chapters and is a co-editor of a major pediatric urologic textbook.

He and Kanda have 34 year old twins. Andy is a physician / innovator and Stephanie works for the United States State Department. He has 3 grandchildren. Dr. Rink is an avid golfer.
