After Graduating from Midwestern University in Downer’s Grove, Illinois, Brooke worked in general and vascular surgery for the Veteran’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri until a family move to Dallas introduced her to the surgical speciality of urology. After continuing to serve the Veteran’s in Dallas she took a position at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Urology where she has been for over 8 years. She enjoys the variety of inpatient consults, outpatient evaluation of benign and malignant conditions, and robotic surgery that her job allows. She sees all urologic complaints, but her practice leans toward recurrent UTIs, incontinence, neurogenic bladder, and pelvic pain. She has given lectures to the PA school affiliated with her institution as well as at other state and national conferences. She has published in JAAPA and was a contributor to a Physician Assistant Clinics in Urology Journal. She is passionate about mentoring students and peers. She is the chairperson for a hospital wide mentorship program for advanced practice providers, is the conference chairperson for the Urologic Association of Physician Assistants, and serves on the AUA APP education committee.
