The SPiDER Scanner is the first wireless and color point cloud manhole inspection technology in the world. It is lightweight and compact and can produce 3D video, 3D images, and measurable 3D meshes with 5 mm accuracy. The MACP SPiDER point cloud is the only technology that calculates the manhole volume to assess wall thickness variation before and after rehabilitation. CUES SPiDER is revolutionizing manhole inspections and case studies will be presented.

Biography:

Pierre Mikhail is the Director of the CUES Manhole Inspection Division. Pierre has been with CUES for a period of 2 years where he serves as the engineering lead and technical director for the CUES manhole inspection product line.
Prior to CUES, Pierre held positions with Engineering Consulting Firms over a period of 21 years with a majority of that time spent assisting utilities around the country with their sanitary and storm assessment challenges.

Gary Warren

Senior Civil Engineer / Supervisor of Wastewater Design Section
EBMUD

Biography:

Gary Warren, PE, is a Senior Civil Engineer for the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD), supervising the Wastewater Engineering Division’s Design Section. This Section performs in-house design work for the Wastewater Department’s capital improvement projects. Projects include treatment plant, collection system and recycled water system upgrades and rehabilitation. Gary has been very involved with EBMUD’s innovative resource recovery and co-digestion program, which allows their treatment plant to produce typically 130% of the power needed to operate the plant. Gary has a BS in chemical engineering from UC Santa Barbara and 30 years of experience. Prior to working for the District, he also worked for CH2M HILL (now part of Jacobs) and Metcalf & Eddy (now part of AECOM). He is also very active in CWEA, currently serving on the board of the local SF Bay Section.
