Secrets to Co-Digestion Success
A Clean Start and a Closed Loop: Roseville’s Organics-to-Vehicle-Fuel Story
Wednesday, April 18
2:00 PM - 2:50 PM
Location: Meeting Room 304/305, Sacramento Convention Center
CWEA: 1 Contact Hour
Practice Area: Team Challenge Area: The Big Shift to Co-digestion
This project includes co-digestion, biogas upgrading to RNG, an RNG fueling facility, and microturbines, creating a closed-loop solution for the City of Roseville by fueling the City’s collection vehicles with renewable fuel generated from the digestion of those organics and powering the processes with electricity generated from the microturbines.
- Identify market drivers and opportunities for the diversion of high strength organic waste to anaerobic digestion and digester gas to vehicle fuel utilization projects .
- Assess the feasibility of implementing a co-digestion, combined heat and power, and renewable fuel project at WWTPs.
- Turn possibilities into values we can count on in an economic evaluation with co-digestion, vehicle fueling and combined heat and power.
