CA-NV Section AWWA and CWEA are working on developing a program to address the absence of significant testing on advanced water treatment topics in the existing Operator Certification Program for water and wastewater operators. This presentation will give an overview of the program development and next steps.

Biography:

Gordon is the Manager of Planning and Analysis at the East Bay Municipal Utility District in Oakland, California, with 15 years of experience in the water industry, where he works on the planning and design of the water treatment plants improvements. Previously, he worked as an engineering consultant on the design, testing, and optimization of advanced and emerging water treatment technologies. Gordon has also volunteered for the CA/NV Section of AWWA in leadership roles in the recycled water committee, water resources division, and AWT operator certification ad-hoc committee. Gordon earned his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and his B.S. degree from Virginia Tech.

Biography:

Dr. Mackey is a Project Manager with Brown and Caldwell in their Walnut Creek, California office. She has over 18 years in the business specializing in drinking water and recycled water treatment, water quality, and regulatory compliance. Erin is part of the leadership team for the California/Nevada Section AWWA Advanced Water Treatment Certification Committee.
