The Groundwater Replenishment System is the largest indirect reuse facility in the world. Due to its size several practical considerations are required to comply with current California regulations. This presentation will demonstrate the successes and challenges related to complying with the Final GRRP regulations pathogen LRV requirements and related reporting.

Biography:

Mehul has been with the Orange County Water District for twenty one years, where he is the Director of Water Production/Groundwater Replenishment System, and is in charge of the Operations, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Barrier Operations departments. He has extensive experience in pilot, demonstration and full-scale operation of microfiltration, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis technologies. Mehul received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the California State Polytechnic University Pomona and his and Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the California State University Long Beach. He is a registered professional civil engineer in the state of California.

Gordon Williams

Manager of Planning and Analysis for Water Quality
East Bay Municipal Water District

Biography:

Gordon is the Manager of Planning and Analysis at the East Bay Municipal Utility District in Oakland, California, with 15 years of experience in the water industry, where he works on the planning and design of the water treatment plants improvements. Previously, he worked as an engineering consultant on the design, testing, and optimization of advanced and emerging water treatment technologies. Gordon has also volunteered for the CA/NV Section of AWWA in leadership roles in the recycled water committee, water resources division, and AWT operator certification ad-hoc committee. Gordon earned his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and his B.S. degree from Virginia Tech.
