The Fresno-Clovis RWRF has been successfully codigesting FOG and food waste in their anaerobic digesters for several years. The City wants to maximize their codigestion program and digester gas production. An evaluation was carried out to determine the capital investment and operational changes required to meet this goal.

Biography:

Christine Polo works as a process engineer for Black & Veatch in Walnut Creek. She has experience with both wastewater and biosolids processes. She specializes in anaerobic digestion, codigestion, and digester gas utilization.
Education: BS, Environmental Engineering, New Mexico Tech; MS, Environmental Engineering, University of Kansas
Credentials: PE, licensed in CA

Brian Peck

Director of Engineering
South Orange County Wastewater Authority

Biography:

Brian Peck has been the Director of Engineering with the South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) since the year 2000. SOCWA operates three wastewater treatment plants and two ocean outfalls in Orange County. Mr. Peck graduated from the University of Illinois in 1984 (and left long frigid winters behind shortly thereafter). He has been active in professional organizations including AWPCA (now AZ Water), the Tri-State Seminar, CWEA and SARBS since 1986. Mr. Peck is married to Tricia Butler, the Chief Engineer of the Santa Margarita Water District. Based on the dinner conversation topics it is easy to understand why their three sons left home at the earliest opportunity.
