Process air production represents over one half of total energy used at typical wastewater treatment plants. This session covers the "how to" items associated with blower replacement: how to evaluate if blower replacement will provide improved aeration efficiency and energy savings, how to select blower replacement technology, and how to fund projects.

Biography:

Brianna Juhrend received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Pacific in 2013 and Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2014. As a professional engineer with Carollo Engineers, Inc., Brianna's experience includes regulatory compliance efforts, facility design, and engineering assistance during construction. Brianna serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the California Water Environment Association Northern Sacramento Valley Section. Brianna also volunteers as the Sacramento Office Coordinator for Carollo's Workplace Giving Campaign and as co-chair for the Sacramento Water for People Committee.

Jordan Damerel

Biography:

Jordan Damerel is the Director of Engineering at the Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District. Jordan has a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MS in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jordan is a registered Professional Engineer, a wastewater Operator-In-Training, and an adjunct water/wastewater instructor at Solano Community College. Jordan’s experience includes design and optimization of biological treatment processes, UV disinfection systems, recycled water projects, and energy efficiency projects, as well as capital planning and asset management.

Biography:

Hi I am Cori Burnett - I am a Grade V Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator at the City of San Luis Obispo and have an Environmental Engineering degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I am excited to help bridge the gap between operations and engineering to help optimize facilities to protect the valuable resource of one water.
